Job summary

Empower Pharmacy in Houston seeks a capable Supervisor, Quality Training to lead and improve training programs across our regulated 503A/503B operations. POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Quality Training leads the execution and continuous improvement of training programs that strengthen compliance, workforce capability, and operational integrity across Empower. Operating within a hyper-growth, highly regulated 503A/503B environment, this role owns training coordination, documentation quality, audit readiness, and resolution of identified learning gaps. The supervisor translates regulatory and business requirements into practical instruction, equips employees to perform consistently, and maintains disciplined follow-through on corrective actions. Through close partnership with Enterprise Training, quality teams, and subject matter experts, this leader aligns learning resources with procedures and operational needs. Success requires sound judgment, precise communication, analytical problem-solving, and the learning agility to respond quickly to evolving standards. The role directly supports product safety, compliant execution, employee development, and Empower’s ability to scale reliable operations without compromising quality or accountability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Operations
  • Program Delivery: Coordinate quality training schedules, assignments, and resources to ensure employees receive timely instruction aligned with operational priorities and approved procedures.
  • Training Execution: Oversee consistent delivery of required training, monitor completion and effectiveness, and address barriers that could disrupt workforce readiness or compliant performance.
  • Record Accuracy: Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready training documentation that demonstrates adherence to standard operating procedures and applicable quality requirements.
Quality And Compliance
  • Standards Alignment: Implement training programs that reflect applicable USP standards, current Good Manufacturing Practices, documentation expectations, and workplace safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Oversight: Lead routine audits and inspections of training records, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are documented, completed, and verified.
  • Gap Resolution: Evaluate training gaps, determine risk and priority, and adjust program execution to strengthen compliance, product safety, and operational consistency.
Team Leadership
  • Team Direction: Set clear expectations for the Quality Training team, coordinate daily work, and reinforce accountability for accurate, timely, and effective delivery.
  • Employee Coaching: Coach team members through specific feedback, practical support, and development opportunities that strengthen performance, collaboration, adaptability, and professional growth.
  • Workload Planning: Balance assignments and available resources against changing demands, resolve execution issues promptly, and maintain reliable training support across operations.
Cross-Functional Improvement
  • Needs Analysis: Partner with Enterprise Training and operational stakeholders to assess requirements, prioritize learning needs, and select appropriate training approaches for identified gaps.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and maintain practical learning resources, including on-the-job training, work instructions, and job aids.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze audit findings, learner feedback, and performance trends to improve training quality, strengthen knowledge transfer, and support sustainable compliance outcomes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Deep knowledge of quality training practices, cGMP, USP standards, Good Documentation Practices, auditing methods, and regulated operational requirements.
  • Proficiency in training needs analysis, curriculum execution, documentation review, corrective action tracking, and systematic evaluation of learning effectiveness.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including daily work coordination, coaching, performance feedback, accountability, adaptability, and support for employee development.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for translating complex quality requirements into practical guidance for varied operational audiences.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least five years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or training within pharmaceutical or healthcare operations, including compounding oversight required
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employees, coordinating training delivery, auditing documentation, and implementing corrective actions in a regulated operating environment required.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, cGMP and USP frameworks, regulatory documentation, and methods for evaluating training effectiveness required.
  • A recognized certification in quality auditing, quality improvement, regulatory affairs, organizational excellence, or pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices preferred.
