Job summary

Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is seeking a Supervisor - Quality Control to oversee QC activities and drive continuous improvement. You will lead a team, schedule daily tasks, and ensure data integrity in a fast-paced biopharma setting.

The role requires a STEM degree with 2–5+ years of related experience and leadership exposure; external candidates showing Catalent leadership program involvement are welcome. On-site position with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in STEM with 2+ years related experience, or leadership experience within Catalent may be considered.
  • MS in STEM with 4+ years related experience, or BS with 5+ years related experience.
  • Leadership experience of 0–2 years; Catalent leadership programs may substitute external experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule daily tasks for the QC team.
  • Lead deviation investigations or laboratory investigations.
  • Review and approve data and reports.

Job description

Position Summary:

Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm

100% on-site

Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is a state‑of‑the‑art biologics development and manufacturing facility supporting customers from research through early‑ and mid‑stage clinical production. Located at 726 Heartland Trail in Madison, the approximately 102,700‑square‑foot GMP facility specializes in mammalian cell line engineering, drug substance biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical development, utilizing flexible single‑use systems to enable rapid scale‑up and customization. The site is home to Catalent’s proprietary GPEx® and GPEx® Lightning technologies, which are used to generate high‑yielding mammalian cell lines for biologic therapies, and supports production scales ranging from 50 to 4,000 liters for clinical manufacturing. Following a $45 million expansion announced in 2025, the Madison site has significantly increased capacity, added new equipment, and created approximately 200 highly skilled biohealth jobs, further strengthening its role within Catalent’s global biologics network and Wisconsin’s growing life sciences ecosystem.

Supervisor - Quality Control

In this role, you will oversee quality control activities, ensuring compliance with standards and driving continuous improvement. You will lead a team, manage performance, and support technical processes to meet department objectives. The Role:
  • Support analysts on the team
  • Schedule daily tasks
  • Lead deviation investigations or laboratory investigations
  • Review and approve data and reports
  • Conduct performance reviews and participate in employee hiring process
  • Track and report performance indicators and implement action plans to address gaps and achieve department objectives
  • All other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
  • Doctorate Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, OR
  • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 4 years of related experience, OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Leadership experience of 0 - 2 years
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
