Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising and coordinating production personnel and processes within an assigned area. Provides oversight to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, maintaining conformance to all quality standards, SOPs, cGMPs, and company requirements. Has a thorough understanding of equipment operation, batch record requirements, and reviews all documentation during production and batch reconciliation.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate the execution of the production schedule and equipment changeovers based on directions from production managers.
  2. Supervise production processes on assigned shifts across multiple lines, coordinating activities and overseeing hourly staff.
  3. Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and support groups to ensure compliance with procedures, standards, policies, and cGMPs.
  4. Manage batch documentation, including data entry, verification, review, and approval.
  5. Take responsibility for production personnel, metrics, equipment, and facility conditions.
  6. Ensure compliance with departmental and company policies, safety programs, standards, and cGMPs.
  7. Conduct detailed deviation investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  8. Prepare investigation reports and mitigation plans as needed.
  9. Monitor production schedules and activities to meet performance objectives and budgets.
  10. Update and improve departmental SOPs.
  11. Recommend and implement process improvements. Coordinate staffing and ensure personnel training is current.
  12. Develop and execute training programs, regularly evaluate staff performance.
  13. Establish effective communication methods for operational continuity across shifts.
  14. Empower personnel to participate in continuous process improvements.
  15. Contribute to the development of the annual departmental budget and provide daily performance updates.
  16. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience; experience in FDA-regulated industry preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of SOPs and cGMPs.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
