Job summary

Twenty-Six Defense on the Roanoke floor seeks an On-Floor Supervisor to lead daily production activities, supervise staff, and ensure quality and safety on the production floor.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, maintain inventory, and drive continuous improvement in a unionized environment. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business administration or related field with 1+ years of manufacturing supervisor experience.
• High School Diploma with 7 years of manufacturing supervisor experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily operations of work areas and assigns tasks per schedules.
• Monitors performance and provides coaching to staff.
• Maintains floor inventory, schedules, and delivery promises.
• Ensures safety, quality, and housekeeping guidelines are followed.
• Interfaces with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HR to resolve production issues.
• Supports continuous process improvement and Lean Six Sigma initiatives.

Job Summary

An On-Floor Supervisor manages daily activities and staff on the floor of a business, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring performance, resolving issues, managing inventory, and training employees to meet operational goals

Responsibilities And Tasks

• Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision. Directs daily operations of work areas and assigns work as established in accordance with schedules and deliverables.
• Interacts daily with subordinates and/or peers within and across functions as necessary. Sets objectives and standards of performance and monitors daily for all employees in his/her department.
• Maintains schedules and delivery promises.
• Ensures proper documentation is in use on the production floor at all times. Meets all company, safety, environmental, and housekeeping guidelines. Participates in the training and development of employees.
• Initiates and follows up on all personnel activities, including performance reviews and counseling.
• Interfaces with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other support groups to solve production problems.
• Maintains accurate floor inventory. Controls scrap and excess material to acceptable levels.
• Ensures all personnel comply with safety and security regulations as set forth by company policies.
• Enter and maintain attendance data.
• Responsible for continuous process improvement.
• Participates in and promotes Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Other duties as specified by authorized company representatives.
• May have to work any shift as required.
• Role is in a unionized shop.

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification

• Associate degree in business administration or related field and 1+ years of experience OR High School Diploma and 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with previous supervisor experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Shift Schedule

Thursdays:4-6 hours

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: approximately 5:30 pm - 6:00 am
