Job summary

Wesco in Austin, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead teams assembling parts and electrical units on floor stations. You will schedule, assign work, and ensure conformance to procedures and quality standards.

You will identify tests outside tolerance, supervise repairs, and coordinate with Sales/Purchasing on lead times and BOMs. Expect strong emphasis on LEAN processes and manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

  • 3 years required of supervisory experience in plant and manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years required of quality and LEAN process understanding and ability to implement.
  • Reasoning ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variable situations where only limited industry standard exists.
  • Mathematical Skills - Concrete understanding of numbers in relation to all unit of measures, ratio and percentages.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes.

  • Interprets specifications, drawings/blue prints, and job orders.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Resolves manufacturing issues and assist workers in work problems.
  • Maintains time and productions records.
  • Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials.
  • Enforces company policies and safety regulations.
  • Confers with Sales and Purchasing regarding lead time, delivery, and BOM’s.
  • Reviews and monitors workers’ performance and attendance.

Qualifications
  • Associates’ Degree in Business or related preferred; Experience can be substituted for degree
  • 3 years required of supervisory experience in plant and manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years required of quality and LEAN process understanding and ability to implement.
  • Reasoning ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variable situations where only limited industry standard exists. Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Mathematical Skills - Concrete understanding of numbers in relation to all unit of measures, ratio and percentages.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and demonstrable skills.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes.

Compensation Details: $64,653 - $84,048 Annually

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
