Responsibilities

Off‑shift position located within Plant 3. This role directs and motivates a manufacturing workforce to produce high‑quality product efficiently and safely, ensuring scheduling meets business and customer needs.

Job Roles
  • Anticipation – asks questions to understand the needs of multiple stakeholder groups; prepares operations for optimal execution; contributes as a strategic partner in planning.
  • Reliability – leads by example; provides goal and measurement information to others; facilitates a safe environment; works effectively within bargaining unit contract parameters.
  • Optimizer – improves processes; executes production for maximal output; eliminates waste; increases quality; aligns activity and resources to desired outcomes; sets others up for success.
  • Facilitator – interacts with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels; furnishes accurate instructions; acts as liaison between planning, management, and execution.
  • Responsiveness – deals effectively with the unforeseen; modifies labor schedule or other variables as needed based on circumstances.
  • Influence – delegates effectively; explains the “why” behind recommendations or directives; advocates for the business; maintains approachability; handles conflict and change effectively.
  • Organization and structure – plans daily; coordinates to deliver on time; ensures efficiencies while balancing priorities of multiple projects and stakeholder groups; makes contingency plans.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises an effective team; plans and holds meetings, prepares and conducts performance appraisals, manages staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leaves), assists with career development, approves time and attendance, and prioritizes work assignments.
  • Provides effective feedback, both positive and negative, and maintains documentation for disciplinary actions.
  • Provides training and mentoring to new supervisors.
  • Directs training and orientation to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, improves work performance, and acquaints employees with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with the collective bargaining agreement; interfaces between management and union officials; handles grievances.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Schedules production and work teams.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays.
  • Promotes EHS and continuous improvement initiatives and culture.
  • Implements ABS principles and initiatives and leads the 6S program.
  • Interacts with employees and other departments to manage product flow through the operation.
  • Maintains inventories, as applicable.
  • Creates total awareness among employees of company policies, regulations, procedures, and business initiatives; enforces compliance and serves as a resource for information and questions.
  • Responds to emergencies; assists in troubleshooting production problems; investigates and analyzes; initiates or recommends actions to correct deviations affecting schedules, costs, quality, and other factors.
  • Prepares and analyzes documentation as required (e.g., production reports, log sheets).
  • Reviews work procedures for safety regulations and concerns.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures to improve operations, reduce operating costs, and enhance utilization of labor and materials.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend improvements to machine and equipment conditions.
  • Performs safety audits; facilitates the 6S audit program.
  • Assists with budget and goal setting of the operation.
  • Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with TPM, synchronous manufacturing, and Kaizen concepts.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels; strong team building, interpersonal skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; technically oriented.
  • Energetic, self‑starter; promotes and implements change; strong PC, telephone, and organizational skills; fosters a continuous improvement atmosphere.
