Job summary

Honolulu-Cookie-Company in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a part-time retail associate for our Hyatt Regency Waikiki store. You will provide exemplary customer service on the selling floor, assist with product selection, and help maintain store presentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides exemplary customer service on the selling floor and supports associates in achieving brand standards.
• Coaches and trains team to meet company policies and service expectations.
• Interacts with customers to assist with product selection and upsell when possible.
• Maintains opening, closing, and safety procedures per SOPs and health guidelines.
• Participates in inventory management, pricing, transfers, and product counts.
• Supports Store Manager by providing feedback for performance evaluations and training new associates.

THIS WOULD BE A PART-TIME POSITION IN OUR HYATT REGENCY WAIKIKI RETAIL STORE. PARKING WILL BE PAID FOR (LOCATION TBD SOMEWHERE IN WAIKIKI AREA).

SUMMARY:Provides exemplary customer service on the selling floor while supporting associates in following brand standards, achieving daily goals, and delivering a world-class customer experience. This role oversees daily operational tasks and provides coaching, guidance, and support to the team throughout the shift.

• Assist with coaching and training store employees to meet company policies, standards and expectations and provide the Store Manager with meaningful feedback for performance evaluations.


• Participate in training new Associates using the company training checklists.


• Encourage employees to collaborate and communicate with each other and to leadership team. Support manager to escape solutions, suggestions and improvements within team and to retail management. Actively participate in team meetings to develop self and team to meet and exceed service standards.


• Support and perform duties related to inventory management to include but not limited to; receiving, transfers, pricing, product count, and physical inventory.


• Partner with other company departments as needed:
  
  
  
  • With Visual Merchandising to implement and maintain store merchandising standards
  
  
  • With other HQ Administrative departments as required for effective store operation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience in the service industry


• Minimum 2 years prior experience in retail or hospitality industry


• Minimum 2 years or more in a supporting or leadership role of a team with 5 or more employees


• Prior experience with computerized Point-of-Sale systems

SKILLS:

• Has a willingness to learn, apply and develop effective decision making skills


• Demonstrates the desire to learn how to lead, coach and develop employees to meet and exceed performance standards and expectations.


• Professional verbal and written English skills to be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees


• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel at beginner to intermediate levels


• Valid Food Handlers Card required at all times after completion of introductory period

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sit or stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift


• Twist body, bend, and reach above head


• Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs


• Stand on ladder up to 6 ft and reach shelving to place product
