Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead daily distribution operations. You will direct and coordinate warehouse activities, manage a union workforce, and ensure safe, efficient order fulfillment while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in warehouse distribution.
• Minimum 3 years in management.
• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate warehouse activities to fulfill customer orders timely and efficiently.
• Drive efficient warehouse operations including inbound receiving, storage, order picking, and outbound loading.
• Monitor performance data to ensure shifts meet rates and procedures.
• Identify inventory shrink causes and support corrective action plans.
• Coach and develop union warehouse associates; disciplinary actions when required.
• Participate in building high-performing teams through hiring and coaching.
• Maintain safety and physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
• Analyze operations and recommend cost-control measures.
• Lead with a safety mindset and report hazards or resolve them.

What you will do:

• Direct and coordinate warehouse activities to ensure that customer orders can be fulfilled timely and efficiently.
• Drive efficient warehouse operations ensuring the timely receiving and storage of inbound material, the accurate selection of products for order fulfillment, and the staging and loading of trucks for outbound delivery.
• Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods.
• Work with the operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in the development of an action plan.
• Oversee and develop union warehouse associates through one‑on‑one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example.
• Coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action
• Participate in building high‑performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel.
• Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
• Analyze the current operations and make recommendations on expense and cost control.
• Lead with a safety mindset by regularly inspecting the facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them as appropriate.
• Implement succession planning for self and other critical roles on the team.

What you will bring:

• Experience managing a union environment.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse distribution.
• A minimum of 3years of management experience.
• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to exercise safety while carrying out all job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• The ability to stand and walk for the full lengthof the assigned shift.
• The ability to lift, push, and pull objects.
• The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb.
• This job is performed in a large distribution center warehouse environment.

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Salary Range: $70-80k

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, second shift
