Job summary

Tallgrass seeks an Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of facilities across multiple sites in Wyoming. You will lead operations personnel, plan schedules, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage budgets and incident investigations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with clients and trucking dispatchers, maintaining safety programs, and developing short- and long-range operations plans. Travel and shift coverage may be required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience with mechanical and disposal systems.
  • Five years of direct people management experience.
  • Valid driver8 license and a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers (travel).

Job description

Directly responsible for the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of facilities operations and all related equipment and supervision of multiple operations personnel.

Responsibilities

**Essential duties and responsibilities:**

  • Ensure that work is completed in accordance with internal standards following approved policies, procedures, safety rules, budgets and in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction.
  • Plan, schedule, assign and direct work of Operations personnel.
  • Manage all regulatory requirements, and be prepared to assist during any inspections or audits for the area of responsibility.
  • Cover employee shifts when necessary
  • Ensure the collection and sale of oil at applicable locations.
  • Coordinate with clients and trucking dispatch on the delivery of flowback and produced water
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team on the maintenance and operational functionality of the facility
  • Ensure daily/weekly filter counts are taken and orders placed with the maintenance team
  • Monitor and implement company procedures, standards and best practices.
  • Directly responsible for the safety program, environmental compliance, governmental compliance, employee training and development, facility security and all personnel functions.
  • Provide leadership and manage the planning and direction of activities at multiple locations within the area.
  • Supervise contract personnel engaged in testing and operations of facilities.
  • Plan and forecast the Capital and O&M Budgets for the area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the development of O&M procedures, site specific procedures, project scopes and work plans.
  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Coordinate safety training and inspections, including completing documentation and conducting safety incident investigations when needed.
  • Responsible for cash flow management, cost monitoring and control.
  • Assist with AFE project preparation, scheduling, monitoring projects costs, and project completion.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to develop short- and long-range plans, goals and objectives for compressor and pipeline operations.
  • Provide support to project management and business development, as needed.
  • Organize work for timely completion.
  • Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements.
  • Respond to emergency situations at any hour of the day or night. This includes and may not be limited to being in possession of required equipment and tools, designated forms, policies, regulations and manuals.
  • Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Manage personnel related matters, including providing performance based feedback, providing support and completing administrative paperwork as needed.
  • Demonstrate and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics and safety discipline.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce a culture of regulatory compliance.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.
Qualifications

**Education:**

  • High School Degree or GED
Experience/Specific Knowledge
  • A minimum of two (2) years working experience with mechanical and disposal systems.
  • A minimum of five (5) ears with direct people management.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of crude oil.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
  • Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.
  • Solid communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations and other internal and external groups.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
