Job summary

Purolator International is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to supervise the facility’s warehouse staff and oversee daily operations, including floor processing and ERP shipment entries.

This role supports the District Service Quality Supervisor, requires a problem-solving mindset, and involves IT-related shipping tasks with brokers. Hours are Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:30am EST, at the Memphis facility.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of operations experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to process shipments in an enterprise system.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for occasional shift changes during peak season.
  • Nice to have: 2+ years supervising a team.

Responsibilities

  • Direct operations and service of the branch, establishing goals and standards.
  • Cross-train staff and oversee loading/unloading and shipping activities.
  • Manage inbound and outbound paperwork, labeling, and bills of lading.
  • Monitor safety, security, and daily operational procedures.
  • Prepare weekly reports and assist with billing and ERP tasks.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Description

The role of the Operations Support Specialist is toassistthe District Service Quality Supervisorwithin a specific branch.The Operations Support Specialist willbe overseeingthe operation and the warehouse personnel within the facility. This involves processing freight on the floor as needed, and shipment entries into our ERP system.

This position will also supervise the ITcomponentwhere customer enters shipping to ensure accuracy in shipment entries and working with brokers to ensure shipment moving intimelyfashion.

This position willoperateon its own, as the Operations Manager is based in another branch and not locally present.Therefore, a problem-solving mindset isrequired, along withdemonstratedexperience in problem solving without constant supervision or guidance.

The scheduled for this role is Monday - Friday 12:00pm -8:30am EST

Responsibilities

Directing operations and service of the branch:

  • Work with Manager toestablishwork goals,strategy, and standards to be achieved by team
  • Orientnew staffmembers to the organization and department policies and procedures; review his/her positiontasksand expectations of performance
  • Cross train in other warehouse positions as needed
  • Load and unload packages from processing stations / trailers
  • Receiving, weighing, measuring, scanning, labeling, and shipping while adhering to all Safety and Security regulations
  • Affixing labels to the packages; Scanning boxes from inbound staging area; Preparation of Bill of Ladings
  • Sign for vendor packages as they arrive throughout the day
  • Safety, upkeep, opening and closing, security, inspections etc.

Administrative tasks including:

  • Print customs paperwork from the broker, confirm brokers received, accepted by customs, and make sure customs paperwork for the day
  • Review strip sheet to prep work for inbound freight
  • Print out Customer Commercial Invoices, apply PARS, fax off todifferentbrokers, reviewPARSand confirm clear
  • Monitor our ERP system to manage inbound shipment board
  • Assist Billing with finalization of HAWBS (validating dims, confirm bill to account, ensure auto calculation, MAWB finalization)
  • Weekly Reporting
  • Complete Health & Safety compliance trainings asrequired
  • Carry out other duties asappropriateand as assigned by his/her manager
Experience
  • 2+ years operations experience
  • Proficient in MS Office. Must be computer literate and able to process shipments into enterprise system
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Flexibility for occasional shift change during peak season

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years’ experience supervising a team preferred
  • Transportation or freightforwardingexperience a plus
Education
  • High School Degree or GED preferred
