CAL FIRE seeks a Supervisor of Building Trades to oversee and coordinate the work of building trades supervisors, leadpersons and journeypersons across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and painting.

The role involves laying out tasks, reviewing performance, estimating labor and material needs, scheduling workflows, requisitioning tools and supplies, and maintaining labor and material records to support budget planning.

Formación

• Typical tasks require supervising multiple trades and coordinating work across teams.
• Ability to estimate labor and materials for diverse building projects.
• Experience with budgeting and preparing reports.

Typical Tasks

Lays out, assigns, and reviews work, and supervises and coordinates the activities of building trades supervisors, leadpersons or journeypersons in such fields as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting and other building work; estimates labor and materials needed for specific jobs; schedules and coordinates the flow of materials with the assignments of the various trade groups so that order of work and job progress are properly maintained; insures that jobs are carried out according to plans and specifications; requisitions tools, materials, supplies, and equipment; supervises the cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment; as necessary, works with journeypersons of the individual trades in performing construction, maintenance, and repair work; keeps labor and material records; assists in preparing budget estimates for material; prepares reports.
