Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee packing, crating and kitting; ensure proper labeling and storage.
  • Coordinate loading, movement, and storage of materials; oversee order fulfillment.
  • Train and coach distribution associates; maintain safe, clean work environment.
  • Maintain equipment to meet warehouse objectives while managing costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve warehousing issues and support IR objectives.
  • Ensure supplies are available; enforce policies and procedures.
  • Plan manpower, conduct interviews, make hiring recommendations, and develop staff.
  • Establish performance metrics and monitor results.
  • Maintain a safe and productive environment focused on quality and efficiency.

General Job Description

Responsible for planning, controlling, and directing the day-to-day activities of the Club Car Distribution Center. Areas of responsibility include all tasks associated with typical warehousing and distribution facilities, receiving, material handling, storage, inventory, picking, packaging, kitting, and shipping of both production and service parts.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee all activities related to parts packing including pre-packing, crating and kitting. Ensure all parts are adequately packed and labeled. Ensure that all stored material is organized and clearly identified.
  • Coordinate the loading, movement and storage of materials. Oversee all activities related to order fulfillment including receiving, picking and delivery of parts to external customers or internal point of use. Ensure all orders are picked, packed, shipped and updated on a regular basis. Resolve all aspects of complex customer issues and provide prompt responses to customer questions in a timely manner.
  • Train, coach and monitor the performance of the Distribution Associates and co‑associates. Ensure timely, fair and equitable dealing with associate issues. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work environment. Communicate continuously with all employees through the use of daily shift meetings, MDI, one‑on‑one meetings and other communication venues as needed. Deal decisively with difficult and complex circumstances. Lead and participate in productivity savings activities. Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain equipment to accomplish the Warehouse objectives while considering cost implications.
  • Assist outside departments with resolving issues or potential issues that are related to warehousing. Coordinate closely with other groups within Club Car and IR to ensure cohesive interactions to best achieve all IR objectives and meet shareholder expectations.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are available for each area. Ensure that all warehouse activities and associates are in compliance with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for recommending changes in the organization to include hiring, disciplinary action and termination of associates within the group. Plan manpower needs, interview, make hiring recommendations, monitor/evaluate performance, make salary recommendations, and counsel assigned staff. Train and develop Associates to ensure they have the necessary skills to exceed expectations.
  • Establish and report on performance measurements in accordance with the stated goals of the department.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment that is focused on customer quality and efficiency.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or prior equivalent experience required.
Experience
  • 5+ years experience with perpetual inventory systems, warehouse management systems, general accounting principles and MRP and ERP systems highly desired. Demonstrate competence in negotiating skills and assessing vendors.
  • Experience with supervising large teams across multiple shifts.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen.
  • This position may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
