Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a Materials Leader to drive timely material flow, optimize warehousing and inventory management, and lead a team to improve production efficiency. This role collaborates with Quality, Purchasing and Production to resolve issues and meet KPIs, while acting as a SAP SuperUser and ensuring strong cross-functional communication across planning and operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, at least two years of materials leadership experience, and

  • 2 years of experience leading teams, developing people or organizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely material flow within the facility and timely delivery in receiving material and shipment preparation.
  • Develop and implement standard processes to enable production efficiency improvements.
  • Lead, supervise and develop materials staff through education, training, coaching and certification in improvement priorities and KPIs.
  • Manage and optimize daily warehousing operations including staging, cycle count and storage of materials.
  • Oversee inventory management and control with established guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate materials presentation to support production operations.
  • Partner with Quality, Purchasing and Production to address customer quality and delivery issues and achieve KPIs.
  • Maintain high level of communication between planning, purchasing and production for customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Warehouse Management (Cycle Count, RFID) and Fill Rate.
  • Maintain staffing levels for daily material management balancing capacity to workload.
  • Act as SAP SuperUser within the materials function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • 20% Ensure timely material flow within the facility as well as timely delivery in receiving material from other

    locations as well as preparation for shipment of parts to other facilities.

  • 15% Develop and implement standard process and strategies that enable production efficiency improvements.

  • 10% Lead, Supervise, and direct materials staff development through education, training, coaching, mentoring and certification in the execution of improvement priorities and the achievement of key performance indicators.

  • 10% Manage and optimize daily warehousing operations including staging, cycle count, and storage of materials.

Other Duties as assigned and the following:
  • Oversee inventory management and control, accuracy, and established inventory guidelines and procedures.

  • Ensure efficient and accurate materials presentation to support production operations.

  • Partner with Quality, Purchasing and Production to develop effective and efficient solutions to customer quality and delivery issues and to achieve objectives and KPIs.

  • Ensure high level of communication between planning, purchasing and production to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction

  • Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID) and Fill Rate.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels for daily material management balancing resource capacity to workload.

  • Act as SAP SuperUser within functional area as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 2 years of materials leadership

  • 2 years of experience leading teams, developing people or organizing tasks.
