Job summary

Job Description
  • Develop and update project policies and procedures to ensure compliance with FAR 52.245-1 on Defense Projects.
  • Lead the implementation, oversight, and continuous monitoring of the Material Management Work Process across the Defense project sites and within the property system.
  • Plan, organize, and direct all activities of the Defense Material Management, Government Property team, including guidance, training and development for both home-office and field personnel.
  • Promote and support the use of Defense Material Management knowledge-sharing portals to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensures the Defense property lifecycle controls, accountability, safeguarding, risk mitigation, audit readiness, system stewardship, and contractual obligation.
  • Establish clear accountability across acquisition, receipt, tracking, storage, utilization, movement, reporting, and disposition of Government Furnished Property/Contractor Acquired Property on the Defense Projects.
  • Material oversight of acquisition through disposition, including documented control, records accuracy, and chain-of-custody.
  • Ensures that the approved Defense Government Property systems (e.g., Maximo) have accurate data, system compliance, and integration with Material Management and accounting systems.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships related to Government Property through consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Support property audits to ensure full compliance with prime contract requirements, FAR, and DFAR.
  • Provide proposal support related to Government Property.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)
  • Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
  • Experience should be primarily in the area of material management and government property industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills
  • Excellent leadership and decision‑making skills
  • Travel requirements: approximately 10-15%.
  • Experience working with Defense Programs including FAR, and DFAR
