Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Supervisor Load Forecasting and Analysis to lead the forecasting team, coordinate forecast execution, and establish governance to support load forecasting processes. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, finance, economics, business administration, or other related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience, including five (5) years in an energy related industry involving performance of complex analysis.
  • Experience using relevant models.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively and efficiently analyze resource planning issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and cultivate strong working relationships with contractual counterparties, regulators and other industry participants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage complex projects.
  • Proficient with suite of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.

Job Description

The Supervisor, Load Forecasting and Analysis is responsible for leading analyst development, coordinating forecast execution, and establishing the governance framework that supports the organization's load forecasting processes. This role provides direct supervision of the analyst team while ensuring forecast work is prioritized, coordinated, documented, and completed in accordance with established quality standards.

The Supervisor serves as the operational leader for the forecasting function, partnering closely with the team manager and technical leads, who maintain ownership of forecasting methodology and technical standards. The Supervisor ensures that people, processes, schedules, documentation, and quality controls are aligned to support the successful delivery of forecasts and work products, regulatory filings, and other strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
People Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise and develop a team of analysts.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and career development planning.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support employee growth.
  • Support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Address performance, communication, and interpersonal issues in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Encourage open dialogue, learning, and feedback.
Forecast Operations & Project Management
  • Manage forecast work intake, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate analyst assignments and balance workload across the team.
  • Develop and maintain forecast project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress and identify risks to schedule, quality, or resource availability.
  • Coordinate execution of load forecast development activities and Integrated System Plan-related work.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between analysts, technical leads, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Track commitments and ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet established expectations.
Forecast Governance & Quality Control
  • Establish and maintain forecast governance processes and documentation standards.
  • Lead development of templates, process documentation, and forecasting workpaper requirements.
  • Coordinate annual updates to forecasting documentation and supporting materials.
  • Develop and maintain quality control, validation, and review procedures.
  • Ensure forecasting outputs are supported by appropriate documentation and audit trails.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of materials used for regulatory filings and stakeholder reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement of forecasting processes, documentation, and controls.
  • Institutionalize forecasting practices and standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner with technical leads to ensure forecasting methodologies are documented, understood, and consistently applied.
  • Collaborate with management to align forecasting activities with organizational priorities.
  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives that improve forecasting efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Help build a scalable forecasting organization capable of supporting future growth, regulatory requirements, and business needs.
Safety & Other
  • Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities.
  • Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

  • Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Reviews and creates communication materials, such as PowerPoint slides, charts, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

The pay range for this position is$87,800.00-$212,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
