Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and direct the activities of the vehicle warehouse and storeroom, ensuring compliance with federal requirements for parts configuration and management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in warehousing, materials planning/purchasing procedures and parts/materials inventory acquisition and disbursement.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit staff, interview, hire, train, coach and counsel to ensure adherence to guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Materials Management to maintain adequate stocking levels of parts and supplies.
  • Track materials shipped to vendors for warranties and quality control; coordinate returns/replacements.
  • Coordinate transfers of parts and equipment between facilities to maintain inventory.
  • Supervise special projects needing data entry (surplus parts disposal, counts adjustments, redistribution).
  • Assist in disposition of problem shipments and investigations; perform other related duties.

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the assigned vehicle warehouse and storeroom facilities and ensuring compliance with federal requirements for configuration and management of parts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibilities. Ensures adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Identifies and coordinates information with Materials Management to ensure that adequate stocking levels of parts and necessary supplies are maintained.
  • Tracks materials shipped to vendors for warranty, quality control rejected parts, samples and repairs. Coordinates the return and/or replacement of all parts in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the transfer of parts, components and equipment between facilities to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Supervises special projects where specialized data entry work is required (surplus parts disposal, adjustments to counts, redistribution of inventory, etc.).
  • Assists in the analysis and supervises the disposition of problem shipments and daily investigation and solution of parts.
  • Performs all other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years of experience in warehousing, materials planning/purchasing procedures and parts/materials inventory acquisition and disbursement. Preferably with MOW and LRV equipment, parts, and tools.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in current inventory control, and warehousing methods and systems; to include shipping and receiving. Maximus and Oracle software use preferred.
  • Proficiency in MSDS/DOT Safety regulations; to include HAZMAT.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in basic math.
  • Flexibility to work any shift or any location
