Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Supervisor Laboratory Services in the Greater Manchester region to provide supervisory oversight for a clinical laboratory department and coordinate multi-site operations.

You will work with the Manager and Medical Director to implement test procedures, ensure regulatory compliance (TJC, CAP, CLIA), and help manage departmental budgets. Strong leadership and communications are essential to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in oversight.
• ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Three (3) years technical experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervisory oversight for a department of the clinical laboratory.
• Reports directly to the Manager of Laboratory Service and collaborates with the Medical Director.
• Participates in planning and execution of department projects; maintains adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Assists in preparation and adherence to departmental budgets and manages within the budget.

Job Description

The Supervisor Laboratory Services (MLS) provides supervisory oversight for a department of the clinical laboratory. Duties may include multiple departments and more than one location. The Supervisor Laboratory Services (MLS) provides operational and technical oversight within these sections. Reports directly to the Manager of Laboratory Service and works closely with the Medical Director, and other supervisory team to formulate section activities, modify, and implement test procedures and policies, and maintain adherence to all regulatory (TJC, CAP, CLIA, etc.) regulations. Participates in the planning and execution of department projects and service goals. The Supervisor Laboratory Services (MLS) assists the Manager in preparation and adherence to the departmental budgets (salary, non-salary, revenue) and is accountable to managing to their budget in each area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in area of oversight.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist through American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Three (3) years previous technical experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent.
• May be required to learn and/or be proficient in multiple department-specific functions, systems, and/or processes.
