Job summary

Providence Swedish Edmonds seeks a Medical Technologist supervisor to oversee clinical laboratory operations and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. You will lead staffing, schedules, evaluations, and counseling, while supporting budgeting inputs.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field and 3 years of full‑time lab experience; hospital supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or related field from a regionally accredited college/university.
• 3 years of full-time clinical laboratory experience in the U.S., Canada or CAP/The Joint Commission accredited lab within last 6 years.
• Experience supervising hospital laboratory operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational supervision and direction for the clinical laboratory.
• Maintain departmental policies, safety, environmental and infection control standards to stay compliant with accreditation and licensing agencies.
• Ensure adequate staffing and provide work direction including scheduling, evaluations, and counseling.
• Perform essential job functions of a Medical Technologist.
• Provide input for budgeting processes.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Upon hire:
  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification --or--
  • National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology --or--
  • National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Medical Technologists --or--
  • National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists --or--
  • National Laboratory Tech - United States Government
• 3 years of full-time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in the specialty in the U.S., Canada or a CAP/The Joint Commission accredited laboratory within the last 6 years
  • These 3years of experience must be acquired post baccalaureate degree and be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology) or an appropriately board certified medical scientist

• Master's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university
• 3 years of Hospital Laboratory supervisory experience
