Job summary

Westlake Management Services Inc. seeks a Supervisor – IS Financial Systems (SAP FICO) in Houston, TX. The role leads SAP FI/CO expertise, supervises a small team of analysts and contractors, and drives SAP S/4HANA migrations and ERP upgrades while ensuring GAAP/IFRS compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or IS/CS/Business Admin and 8 years in accounting, finance and SAP systems. May telecommute up to 2 days weekly.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and technical SAP Finance and Controlling SME guidance while supervising analysts and contractors.
• Supervise a team of 2–3 FTE and contractors, mentor, allocate workload, and conduct performance reviews.
• Design, configure, and support SAP FI (GL, AR, AP, Asset Accounting, Bank) and CO (Product Costing, PA, CO-PA, CCA, PCA, IO).
• Configure PS for asset capitalization and project settlements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Integrate with P2P (MM, VIM, Vertex, Concur) and O2C (SD, Billing, Credit, Collections).
• Coordinate with PP, PM and other SAP modules; manage third‑party finance system support (OpenText VIM, Vertex O Series, BlackLine, SAP Concur, FIS GetPaid).
• Lead SAP S/4HANA migration and ERP upgrade projects.
• Ensure GAAP, IFRS, Local GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Provide project management for large-scale financial system initiatives and integrations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide functional and technical subject matter expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling, while also supervising a team of analysts and contractors.
• Supervise a team of 2–3 full-time employees and contractors, provide mentoring, workload allocation, and performance reviews.
• Design, configure, and support SAP FI (GL including New GL, AR, AP, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting) and CO (Product Costing, Actual Costing, Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders).
• Configure Project Systems (PS) for asset capitalization and project settlements (e.g., expansions, turnaround projects).
• Support month-end and year-end close processes: cost estimates, foreign currency valuation, assessments/distributions, depreciation postings, reconciliations.
• Work on integration with Procure-to-Pay (MM, VIM, Vertex, Concur) and Order-to-Cash (SD, Billing, Credit, Collections, GetPaid).
• Work on integration with Production Planning (PP), Plant Maintenance (PM), and other SAP modules.
• Manage support for third‑party finance systems including OpenText VIM, Vertex O Series, BlackLine, SAP Concur, FIS GetPaid, and FIS Integrity.
• Lead SAP S/4HANA migration and ERP upgrade projects.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Local GAAP, and SOX requirements.
• Provide project management for large‑scale financial system initiatives, including acquisitions and system integrations.
• Work with key business users and process owners in the Finance & Accounting organization, Procurement, Customer Service and Credit Management teams to articulate leading practices and to identify opportunities to enhance & improve current processes, define project scope and project deliverables, manage and deliver projects, train and support users.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Systems orComputer Science or Business Administration.

Minimum Experience Requirements: 8 years of experience in accounting, Finance & SAP systems.
