Position Summary

Responsibilities

1. Supervises General Carpenters, painters, and drywall installers, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
2. Coordinates work requests, minor construction projects, and preventive maintenance.
   • Evaluates, prioritizes, and assigns work requests to staff.
   • Ensures proper completion within a reasonable timeframe.
   • Meets with staff members of other departments to evaluate minor construction needs.
   • Assigns scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and ensures completion; suggests updates to the system.
   • Coordinates patient room enhancements with Nursing Administration, Admissions, and Plant Operations staff.
3. Orders materials to maintain adequate inventory, promotes prompt repair of essential items, adheres to purchasing procedures and policies.
4. Coordinates contracted repair services such as window repair and furniture reupholstery, ensuring efficient work with minimal interruption.
5. Performs other duties such as assisting with warehouse storage, shop area cleaning, installation of new equipment, and seasonal requests.
6. Demonstrates appropriate, caring behavior, treating patients, families, visitors, and staff with respect and dignity.

Minimum Requirements

High School or equivalent (or higher). Five or more years of construction‑related experience as a Carpenter or General Carpenter in a hospital environment.

Pay Range

$28.58 - $41.66

Shift Expectations

1st shift with on‑call capabilities.
