Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Supervisor, Gas Operations to lead gas construction and service crews and enforce safety and HR policies. The role includes scheduling, directing field teams, coordinating with customers and contractors, and driving productivity within collective bargaining rules.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma with 5+ years of relevant gas industry experience or equivalent supervisory experience in heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience in gas distribution, construction or maintenance, planning, project management, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems.
• Supervisory experience required or five+ years in supervision including gas experience or related fields.
• Proficiency with general computer skills preferred. Basic knowledge of TRIS, OAS and DOJM systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and evaluate crews in the construction/maintenance of the gas distribution system.
• Schedule, assign, and direct workforce safely and efficiently within bargaining agreements.
• Monitor work to ensure timely completion and proper use of tracking and materials systems.
• Enforce safety rules and HR policies; conduct Job Behavioral Observations.
• Identify opportunities to improve division operations and control costs.

About The Position

The Supervisor, Gas Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the gas construction and/or service crews, and the management of their work in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements. Their work also includes the daily enforcement of safety rules, HR policies, and resolution of employee conflict and customer complaints.

Key responsibilities include: Supervise, develop, and evaluate individuals and crews engaged in the construction and maintenance of the gas distribution system. Provide clear expectations for their performance. Schedule, assign, and direct the workforce in a safe, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with the limitations of any applicable collective bargaining agreements. Manage overtime. Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, and other company departments. Monitor to ensure timely completion. Efficiently utilize company systems related to work tracking, time reporting, and materials management. Consistently enforce all safety rules and conduct Job Behavioral Observations with individuals and crews. Consistently enforce HR policies with individuals and crews. Contribute to the development and implementation of division and function goals. Identify and implement improvements in division operations to control costs and improve productivity.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Five or more years of relevant experience (e.g., journeyman in gas distribution, construction or maintenance, planning, project management, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems) required OR five or more years of experience in heavy industrial, construction, utility or supervision including a minimum of three years relevant gas experience (e.g., journeyman in gas distribution, construction or maintenance; planning, project management, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems) or supervisory experience required

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Proficiency with general computer skills preferred. Basic knowledge of TRIS, OAS, and DOJM systems preferred.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$107,500.00 - $166,600.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
