Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Idaho Falls d/b/a Heartland Pharmacy - Idaho Falls is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor to lead fulfillment technicians and manage daily workflow in a fast-paced environment.

You will hire, train, and schedule staff, develop training materials, monitor performance, and ensure accurate medication preparation for courier delivery while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB).
• 5+ years of related experience; advanced proficiency in computer applications related to department operations.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, manage, and schedule technicians to ensure adequate coverage within budgeted labor and Rx.
• Develop training materials for departments and update as needed.
• Evaluate and modify workflow processes to meet deadlines, accuracy and efficiency targets.
• Ensure all medications are complete and accurate prior to scheduled departures for courier delivery.
• Assign and manage workload appropriate to each technician’s duties, measuring productivity and accuracy.
• Ensure Fulfillment technicians are trained on assigned workflow areas and processes.
• Manage daily automation audits to ensure accurate packaging and filling of medications.
• Assist with quarterly inventory prep and physical inventory.
• Work on daily functions such as filling, stocking, and prepacking to ensure timely deliveries.
• Lead by example and uphold non-negotiable attributes: attitude, dependability, commitment, productivity, efficiency and policy adherence.
• Collaborate with supervisors/functional areas to keep workflow smooth and efficient.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws pertaining to dispensing of prescription medications.
• Other essential duties as needed.

Supervises daily operations of fulfillment technicians. Monitors daily activities and manages work schedules to ensure quality, production and service levels are maintained.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):

• Hire, train, manage, and schedules technicians to ensure adequate coverage for workflow within budgeted labor/Rx while keeping overtime low
• Develop training materials for departments and update as needed
• Evaluate and modify workflow processes and implement changes as necessary to meet deadlines, accuracy and efficiency targets.
• Ensure all medications are complete and accurate prior to scheduled departures with sufficient time for the medications to be prepared for courier delivery.
• Assign and manage work volume appropriate to each technician’s duties, measuring both productivity and accuracy.
• Ensure Fulfillment technicians are fully trained on assigned workflow area and processes within established time period.
• Manage daily automation audits to ensure accurate packaging and filling of medications.
• In coordination with Director of Operations, develop/conduct regularly scheduled performance evaluations. Provide individual feedback for each team members and document performance improvement goals and objectives.
• Assist with quarter-end inventory prep and physical inventory.
• Work as needed on daily functions which may include, but is not limited to, filling, stocking, prepacking and working with automation to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries
• Lead by example in all areas of role and supporting the non-negotiable attributes; attitude, dependability, commitment, productivity, efficiency and upholding policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other supervisors/functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the dispensing of prescription medications.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Education and/or Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB)

• 5+ years of related experience (technical knowledge/skills may substitute for experience)
• Advanced proficiency in computer applications related to department operations and job function.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
