Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $79,827 - $112,114 per year. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & People Management: Uphold and promote a professional work environment, address minor conflicts, foster teamwork in line with S&C’s values, monitor team tasks, provide regular feedback, recognize achievements, and mentor team members.
  • Department Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership support for the department, complete administrative tasks, resolve issues, coordinate resources, supervise and guide the team to meet job orders and daily metrics.
  • Fabrication Operations: Oversee fabrication processes and workflows, coordinate with department leaders, ensure proper training and equipment, plan production schedules, and maintain KPI boards.
  • Quality Management: Inspect welded parts and fabricated materials, enforce quality control, initiate corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Promote safety, investigate incidents, enforce policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Reporting: Create production and status reports; communicate issues to upper management regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel.
  • Budget Support: Assist the Manager in overseeing the department budget and expenditures.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with applicable company policies and rules.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and best practices in welding, painting, grinding, or electroplating.
  • Strong leadership skills in a manufacturing environment with the ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results.
  • Critical thinking, organizational, planning, and project management skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to liaise with internal stakeholders.
  • Financial math skills to support budget decisions.
  • Analytical skills to use data for informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to partner across teams and collaborate at an operational level.
  • Adaptability to change and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
Preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, including Oracle HCM and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with press brake machines or other machining equipment.
  • Decision-making capabilities to help S&C achieve business goals.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work beyond normal hours as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Standing: Occasionally up to 2 hours at a time, 5 days per week
  • Sitting: Frequently up to 2 hours at a time, 5 days per week
  • Walking: Frequently across the campus, 5 days per week
  • Lifting/Carrying: 5 lbs to 40 lbs, as needed with proper lifting methods
  • Low posture: Stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, or squatting as needed
  • Position self/move: Reaching, twisting, rotating, pushing/pulling as needed
  • Manual dexterity: Use of hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Climbing: Occasional ladders and stairs
  • Vision/Observation: Close-range detail, depth perception, color differentiation
  • Communication: Clear verbal communication in person and by phone/conference
  • Availability: May require extended hours when necessary
