Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an EHS Supervisor to lead the EHS technician team and drive the implementation of SpaceX’s EHS programs. You will supervise, ensure compliance, and model safe work practices across site operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, guiding technicians, and maintaining program documentation while collaborating with engineering and site leadership. Relocation to Memphis, TN is required for this on-site role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety disciplines.

  • Ensure timely completion of required tasks and proper documentation of performance and compliance issues.

SUPERVISOR, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

The role of the EHS Supervisor is to lead the EHS technicians in all work efforts related to implementation of SpaceX’s EHS programs, as assigned by the EHS Manager. As part of this leadership role, it is expected that the EHS Supervisor performs the same work tasks assigned to EHS technicians.

As the EHS Supervisor, you must take on the leadership and supervisory responsibilities to ensure the overall compliance, success, and well-being of the EHS technicians and EHS program. This role leads by example and sets the bar for all EHS-related tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities/priorities of the EHS technician team
  • Ensure a collaborative relationship with the technicians and other EHS/SpaceX teams
  • Coordinate employee schedules, work assignments, timekeeping requirements
  • Provide instructional guidance with regards to job assignments, correct procedures, and applicable techniques to perform specific skills; ensure accuracy and completion
  • Coordinate with site leadership to ensure appropriate EHS team involvement in department development/modification plans and procedure development
  • Ensure technicians are completing all required tasks thoroughly and on time
  • Document all performance and compliance issues with technicians
  • Implement and maintain site-specific EHS team policiesEnsure that resources are allocated appropriately
  • Ensure technicians are completing required EHS inspections via daily communication and oversight
  • Develop and maintain relationships with EHS vendors
  • Ensure hazards encountered by the technician team are being appropriately addressed and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments are created
  • Perform tasks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and other applicable regulatory agencies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety disciplines
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience implementing/developing EHS plans and policies
  • Experience using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with emergency response crews in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water
  • Demonstrated success with hands‑on work and attention to detail in either academic or career pursuits
  • Ability to work in a construction/industrial environment
  • Ability to communicate well with technicians and engineers
  • Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and follow through on projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This isnot a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Memphis, TN area
  • Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted
