Job summary

Eversource seeks a senior operations supervisor to lead safe, efficient construction, maintenance, and outage restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems. You will oversee field activities, coordinate with districts and departments, and drive a strong safety culture while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5–10 years related experience, and supervisory background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent related experience.
• Five to ten years of related experience.
• Experience in electric distribution preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for safe, timely, and efficient construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems
• Coordinate activities among individuals and departments in the district/division
• Promote and enforce a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture
• Engage and motivate employees to deliver the best possible customer experience
• Ensure safe execution of field activities and resolve safety issues promptly
• Make decisions and prioritize work for safe and appropriate use of assigned resources
• Set employee expectations and provide ongoing performance feedback
• Address performance issues and conduct comprehensive performance reviews
• Apply local union contracts and agreements
• Resolve grievances and concerns with managers and employees
• Participate in pre-construction reviews and coordinate field operations with other utilities and Eversource departments
• Collaborate with employees and departments to resolve customer issues
• Fulfill storm duty assignments and participate in an on-call rotation
• Drive to job sites and customer premises to supervise work and review construction requirements
• Work extended hours during outage situations and shift coverage requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required
• Five to ten years of related experience required
• Previous experience in electric distribution preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Working knowledge of safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at secondary and primary operating voltages
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications
• Strong knowledge of computers and related technology
• Ability to learn and utilize available information technologies
• Ability to use PC desktop applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid Motor Vehicle License required
• D.O.T. Driver’s License preferred
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
• Must be available for shift work, including weekends
• Off‑hour on‑call responsibility required on a rotational basis
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
• Ability to effectively relate to customers and the general public under stressful circumstances
• Ability to clearly articulate job and safety‑related information to employees
• Ability to respond to problem situations in a timely manner at all hours
