Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervises customer service within DC: phone coverage, order entry, tracing, and returns.
• Plans and manages special projects such as product distributions, warehouse layout, systems updates, and equipment maintenance.
• Oversees procurement, forecasting needs, issuing purchase orders, and expediting inbound products.
• Prioritizes shipments and deliveries of culinary merchandise, office supplies, and other materials.
• Ensures accurate records for shipping, receiving, and inventory systems.
• Monitors inventory and tracking of warehouse deliveries and storage.
• Maintains sanitation and safety programs.
• Supports development and growth of DC coordinators and associates.
• Develops and reports performance metrics such as overtime, attendance, productivity, and service levels.

Job Overview

Under administrative direction, the purpose of the job is to supervise all Distribution Center activities involving customer service, forecasting, inventory control and product supply of various restaurant merchandise and commodities, office supplies and printed materials. Employees in this job classification function at entry management to achieve quality, safety, service and productivity goals of the Distribution Center. Work includes tracking and supporting the training, performance, overtime, attendance, development and growth of coordinators and associates within the department. Performs related work as directed.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervises all Distribution Center activities including shipping, receiving, forecasting, and storage of various restaurant merchandise and commodities, office supplies and printed materials.
• Supervises all customer service functions within Distribution Center to include phone coverage, order entry, order tracing, and order returns when necessary.
• Plans and maintains special projects and assignments, e.g., product distributions, warehouse layout and design, systems recommendations and updating, equipment purchases and maintenance.
• Supervises all aspects of product procurement including forecasting needs, creating and placing purchase orders and expediting inbound products.
• Prioritizes shipments and deliveries of culinary merchandise and commodities, office supplies and materials, and miscellaneous products.
• Reviews and ensures the accuracy and efficiency of departmental record keeping duties for shipping, receiving and inventory databases.
• Monitors inventory, tracking and sorting tasks of warehouse deliveries and storage.
• Maintains departmental sanitation and safety programs.
• Supports the development and growth of all distribution center coordinators and associates.
• Develops, maintains, tracks and reports various performance metrics, e.g., overtime, attendance, labor productivity, customer service levels.

Required Technical Skills

Three (3) to four (4) years experience in the functions of customer service, demand planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Education

High school diploma or GED.
