Job summary

SpaceXSI Memphis is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor to oversee critical data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental controls. You will lead a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, drive hands-on operations, and promote a collaborative, safety-focused culture.

This role emphasizes process optimization, on-call support for incidents, and cross-functional partnership with engineering and procurement to ensure uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field (degree can be substituted by relevant experience).
• 4+ years managing critical facilities systems (power, cooling, environmental controls).
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data centers.
• 4+ years troubleshooting and maintaining critical facilities infrastructure.
• Proficient with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring tools.
• Proven leadership in critical facilities or technical operations.
• Ability to lead facilities infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Must pass pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 lbs, working at heights up to 50 feet, and working in noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure, including HVAC, power distribution, and backup systems.
• Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules, equipment calibration, and system performance monitoring.
• Create and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to streamline equipment intake, installation, and maintenance processes.
• Utilize internal applications for inventory and asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Manage critical equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely resolution and detailed documentation.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to support seamless data center operations.
• Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Provide on‑call support and respond promptly to critical facilities incidents.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Facilities Operations Supervisor at SpaceXSI Memphis, you will oversee the maintenance and performance of critical data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental systems. You will lead a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, driving hands‑on technical operations, team leadership, process optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data center. • In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data centers.
• 4+ years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical facilities infrastructure.
• Proficiency with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring tools.
• Proven leadership experience in critical facilities or technical operations environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead facilities infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must pass pre‑employment and annual post‑employment background checks.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet with appropriate safety gear.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise.
  • Physical dexterity to perform job functions in confined spaces.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends based on site operational needs; flexibility is required.
• Valid driver's license.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience programming PLC‑based control systems or working with Building Management Systems.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA 608 Technician).
