Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Credit Bureau Reporting and Corrections Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in handling credit reporting corrections and disputes. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six+ years in customer mortgage servicing/financial services with at least 1 year in a senior or team-lead role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Credit Reporting Correction & Dispute team and assign work to meet service standards.
  • Oversee borrower correspondence related to electronic credit disputes.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure legal compliance across processes.
  • Guide corrections using eOSCAR and credit bureau resources.
  • Provide training and develop staff; lead hiring within the team.
  • Resolve escalated customer or third-party requests and support other teams.
  • Develop/update policies to ensure timely, accurate service and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify escalated problems and provide guidance for resolution.
  • Collaborate with counsel and prepare required documentation for complaints.
  • Lead special projects and perform ad hoc duties as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Credit Bureau Reporting and Corrections Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing leadership, training, and supervision to employees in the Department. Oversee and coordinate daily loan servicing activities within the Credit Bureau Reporting & Corrections team. Prepare and maintain reports and records for processing. Works under general direction with substantial latitude and makes decisions involving the savings and losses to the company and investors. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The approved starting salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 a year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the workflow and assignment of work activities for the Credit Reporting Correction & Dispute team; follow up for completion to ensure that service standards are consistently met in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist in the management of processing all aspects of borrower incoming and outgoing correspondence pertaining to borrower electronic credit disputes.
  • Monitor team(s) assignments to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Familiarity with eOSCAR and corresponding credit bureau resources to guide corrections needed and/or respond to borrower or client requests across various Carrington Departments
  • Accurately assess strengths and development needs of employees by providing training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Provide leadership to Credit Bureau Reporting & Correction team, including hiring and training employees. Demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles, allowing the team to achieve challenging goals, and address complaints by resolving problems for the team.
  • Handle and resolve escalated requests from customers or third parties and assist the support teams in identifying solutions.
  • Develop, update, and implement effective policies and procedures to ensure timely, accurate, cost-effective, and excellent service to our customers and in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Identify and analyze escalated problems and provide guidance to team members for resolution.
  • Partner with inside and outside counsel and provide required documentation as needed to resolve complaints.
  • Lead special projects, conduct the research, provide information, and identify possible solutions.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Familiarity with Metro 2 format is a plus.
  • Knowledge/ Experience with credit reporting and FCRA requirements.
  • A working knowledge of relevant industry-specific software applications (e.g., FiServ, Ensemble Pro Director, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical skills.
  • Strong, effective, and efficient presentation and written skills for interactions with senior management across various business units.
  • Strong judgment, influencing, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit.

  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, audibly, and quickly.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six (6) plus years of experience in customer mortgage servicing and/or financial services industry required with a minimum of one (1) year in a senior or team lead role.
