Job summary

VCI Construction seeks a Supervisor of Copper Splicing to lead a team in preparing, splicing, and enclosing copper and telecommunications plants. The role requires experience with telecom network structures and copper expertise, with focus on safety and quality.

You’ll oversee daily operations, train staff, review production, and ensure adherence to customer specs and industry standards while maintaining safe working conditions on site in Henderson, NV.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • 5–7 years of relevant supervisory experience; 4-year degree preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and project management skills; strong communication.
  • Provide verifiable construction or related-field experience.
  • Capable of equipment installation and working in all conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all operations to ensure splicing projects meet customer and industry specs.
  • Supervise, train, and develop a team of copper splicers.
  • Control/oversee splicing teams with safety as a priority.
  • Fill out daily production reports, mark-up maps, and track hours.
  • Reconcile issued parts and materials daily for accurate usage counts.
  • Perform quality control inspections of work by employees or sub-contractors.
  • Enforce company, federal and state rules, including payroll and overtime guidelines.
  • Administer corrective actions and document employee performance issues.

As a Supervisor of Copper Splicing at VCI Construction, your role involves supervising employees in the preparation, splicing, and enclosing of copper and telecommunications plants. This position requires a strong working knowledge of telecommunications network structures, as well as significant experience with copper.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing projects are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications. This includes ensuring that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite, working from engineered blueprints, and keeping track of production.
  • Supervise, train, and develop a team of copper splicers.
  • Control/oversee the work of splicing teams, maintaining safety as a priority.
  • Fill-out daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built.
  • Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
  • Perform quality control inspections by reviewing work completed by employees and or sub-contractors.
  • Maintain and enforce company, federal and state rules and regulations, such as non-discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime guidelines, etc.
  • Administer appropriate corrective disciplinary actions and prepare supporting documentation to address employee performance and/or behavioral issues.
What You’ll Need
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience; 4-year degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Advanced analytical, project management skills, and communication skills
  • Must be effective in leading team efforts, providing recommendations, giving presentations, etc.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of experience in the construction or related fields.
  • Be able to perform any necessary equipment installation.
  • Pass background and drug screen requirements.
  • Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
