Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Supervisor of CDS Informatics to provide day-to-day leadership for the CDS informatics team and ensure deliverables align with organizational priorities. The role partners with Transformation and clinical stakeholders to optimize CDS tooling within Epic and related systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical practice experience.
• 5+ years of CDS, Informatics, or IT-related experience.
• 5+ years of significant experience with CDS tooling.
• 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or people-management experience preferred.
• Prior Epic system experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with CDS ownership, governance, intake prioritization, workflow analysis, testing, implementation and optimization.
• Ability to analyze clinical data, evaluate CDS effectiveness, identify workflow gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Strong project management skills supporting system development, upgrades, implementations and integrations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with stakeholders across clinical, IT, Transformation, and vendor teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership for the Clinical Decision Support Informatics team.
• Establish and track team OKRs; manage performance and remove barriers to execution.
• Partner with Transformation leadership to align deliverables with organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with clinical stakeholders, IT services, vendors, and operations to ensure CDS tools support workflows and regulatory standards.
• Serve as CDS subject matter expert for Epic tools, order sets, smart sets, and patient-facing digital tools.
• Drive continuous learning, improvements, and governance of CDS tooling.

This role partners with Transformation leadership to establish and track team OKRs, manage performance, remove barriers to execution, and promote continuous learning and improvement. The Supervisor serves as a liaison between clinical stakeholders, technical teams, IT services, vendors, and operational leaders to help ensure CDS tools support clinical workflows, evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and organizational goals.

Education

Vocational/Technical or Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

• Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of stated education requirements.

License/ Certification

Holds a current, active clinical license or certification as required for their clinical experience

• Epic Certification required within 3 months from hire

Experience

3 or more years of clinical practice experience required.

• 5 or more years of CDS (Clinical Decision Support), Informatics, or IT-related experience required.
• 5 or more years of significant experience with CDS tooling required; alternate clinical experience may be considered in lieu of RN licensure.
• 2 or more years of leadership, supervisory, or people-management experience preferred.
• Prior Epic system experience strongly preferred
• Experience prioritizing work, allocating resources, mentoring team members, and supporting development plans.
• Experience with CDS product ownership, governance, intake prioritization, workflow analysis, testing, implementation, and optimization.
• Ability to analyze clinical data, evaluate CDS effectiveness, identify workflow gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Strong project management skills with experience supporting system development, upgrades, implementations, and integrations.
• Ability to serve as a CDS subject matter expert for Epic tools, order sets, smart sets, registries, warnings, and patient-facing digital tools.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clinical, operational, IT, Transformation, and vendor stakeholders.
