Job summary

Mount Nittany Health in State College, PA seeks a Case Management Department Leader to oversee human and material resources, ensure quality patient care, and support staff development. Under supervision of the Manager, the role remains clinically competent and enforces policies and standards of care.

Requires a BSN or related field, at least two years in Case Management, supervisory experience preferred; strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills; BLS and CCM preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Social Work or related Health field preferred.
  • Two years of Case Management experience required.
  • Recent supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current PA Registered Nurse license preferred.
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred.
  • BLS certification per American Heart Association; renew every two years.

Responsibilities

  • Manage human and material resources of the Case Management Department.
  • Provide quality patient care and foster staff growth and professional performance.
  • Interpret and enforce policies and standards of care and practice.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Manager, assumes responsibility in managing the human and material resources of the Case Management Department in order to provide quality patient care and an environment conducive to staff growth and professional performance. This individual remains clinically competent in area of practice. Interprets and enforces policies and procedures, standards of care and standards of practice with others and demonstrates same through own actions. This individual remains clinically competent in the area of practice and is able to take a direct patient assignment as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Social Work or related Health field preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years of Case Management experience required.
  • Recent supervisory experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations as they relate to the management of staff.
License/Certification/Registration
  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania preferred.
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred.
  • Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Supervision

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works independently to achieve departmental goals and objectives consulting with the Manager as needed and/or in accordance with established policy.
SUPERVISION GIVEN: Supervises assigned staff in the Case Management Department
