Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. in Salt Lake City is seeking a motivated Production Supervisor. You will oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of materials to customers in your territory, ensuring compliance with health and safety laws and company training.

You will be accountable for asset security, regular audits, warehouse maintenance, and local QA activities, with responsibilities for logistics, procurement of operating supplies and staff training.

Qualifications

• Follow safety methods at all times and report unsafe conditions.
• Read and interpret work orders and oral instructions to determine materials or equipment needs.
• Plan and organize work independently or in a team environment.
• Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Maintain inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; to climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded.
• Train new team members on will calls, deliver orders, check stock, use computers etc.
• Morning walking through the warehouse making sure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked.
• Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
• Maintain equipment daily inspections.

We are seeking a motivated Supervisor for our Triple S Steel location. The Production Supervisor oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of materials, product and services to the Triple-S Steel customers in theirterritory.This roleensures Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and maintained according to Federal, State and Local laws, along with all company issued training.

The Production Supervisor is accountable and responsible for the security of the assets in the office and warehouse, and is responsible for the regular audit and inventory of materials. He/she is also responsible for the repair, maintenance and upkeep of the Physical Building and Grounds, utilizing the Vendors approved by the company. The Production Supervisor is responsible for local Quality Assurance activities, logistics, procurement of Operating Supplies, and training of employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
• Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.
