Family Service League Inc. in Central Islip and Huntington, NY, seeks two full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisors to support our Mental Health Clinics.

The Supervisors will provide individual and group therapy, clinical and administrative supervision, and ensure documentation meets NYS OMH standards. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with psychiatric teams, auditing charts, managing crisis situations, and supporting program outcomes through evaluation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field.
• Licensed or credentialed (LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/Ph.D./PsyD) or licensed professional in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mental health clinic; at least 1 year in a supervisory role; experience with co‑occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy to adults, children, and adolescents.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision to staff, interns, and limited permit holders.

• Huntington Clinic - Monday through Friday, some evening hours required
• Central Islip Clinic - Tuesday through Saturday, some evening hours required

SUMMARY

Family Service League is seeking two full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor for our Mental Health Clinics in Huntington and Central Islip. The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor will assist the Program Director in providing clinical and administrative oversight. The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for providing individual and group supervision, monitoring documentation, and providing direct service. This position will require an understanding of program outcomes, performance indicators, and program evaluation tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Supervisor will provide culturally competent and sensitive services to a small caseload.
• Provide individual and group therapy to a small caseload of adults, children, and adolescents with the full range of DSM diagnoses in a clinic setting, including co-occurring disorders.
• Work closely with all direct and support staff including psychiatric staff to ensure the appropriate treatment interventions for the client and his/her family.
• The Supervisor will complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision to staff, interns, and limited permit holders.
• Provide guidance and direction to all staff and interfaces with other community organizations.
• The Supervisor will ensure access to services, improve health outcomes, reduce preventable hospitalizations and emergency room visits for our clients.
• Audit charts according to NYS OMH and COA regulations
• Manage crisis situations as needed, including on call.
• Attend routine supervision/team meeting.
• Ensure the team’s delivery to provide families with the adequate resources that encourage development of skills necessary to improve overall functioning and reduction of hospitalizations.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in social work or related field required.

LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, Ph.D./PsyD or licensed professional in a related field required.

Minimum of 3 years of prior experience working in a mental health clinic setting, including serving clients with co-occurring disorders and at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting required.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and EHR experience required.

Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.

SIFI certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires sitting for long periods of time.
