Job summary

Five Keys seeks a dedicated Supervisor to oversee the Downtown Street Clean Team and manage all duties under the city contract. You will drive a truck with mounted equipment, supervise crews, and maintain equipment and crew safety while delivering clean, accessible sidewalks within designated areas.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to work with a diverse group under safety guidelines and environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a truck with mounted water pressure and equipment to city locations.
  • Organize staff and equipment to maximize efficiency at job sites.
  • Assign workers to crews and projects and maintain safety standards.
  • Provide pre-job safety instructions and site information to the team.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure PPE use and hydration.

If this job is for you, you are a dedicated and experienced Supervisor, willing to oversee the Downtown Street Clean Team, aimed at maintaining safe, clean, and accessible sidewalks and right-of-ways within designated service areas.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDrives truck with mounted water pressure and other equipment to locations throughout the cityOrganizes staff and equipment to maximize efficiency at job sitesAssigns workers to crews and assigns crews to specific projectsMaintains a clean driving record, insurance coverage, and the ability to be accepted under the organization’s policy-MVPProvides daily pre-job technical and safety instructions and work locations specific information to team membersMaintains continuous availability by cell phone during normal work hours for technical instructions and emergenciesConducts and documents daily staging safety meetings, including preparation for hazards specific to work locations and any applicable seasonal safety hazardsEnsures all crew members report to work dressed appropriately to protect themselves from exposure to usual and or/or predictable physical and environmental conditions found in workplaceEnforces organization’s policy for any crew members who are in violation of safety protocols, including dress codeEnsures Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by supervisor and all crew members while workingEnsures that crew members remain properly hydration and that breaks are taking throughout the day as require for legal compliance and safetyUses strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and give instructionsFacilitates team training and provides safety instructions before team deploymentManage administrative duties that are assigned by the Program ManagerInspects street and other work areas and provides technical instructions to crew members as neededAs needed, responds to citizen request and complaintsWorks with the Program Manager to identify areas of interest and work assignmentsInforms Program Manager of any equipment issues and schedules routine maintenance as neededAssists with new processes, program improvement and training for DSC TeamPerform other program related tasks and duties as needed or requestedOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSThe ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and deliver clear instructions to members of the teamAble to safely drive truck with mounted equipmentAble to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, light rain)Able to work effectively with team members from diverse backgroundsPossess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with co-workers, staff, leadership, community members and partners in a courteous, professional mannerStrong ability to work independently and follow directionsSkilled at remaining task and goal orientedAbility to maintain strong and appropriate boundariesMeet deadlines, Adapt well to changesAbility to problem solve and resolve questions or concernEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEPrevious experience in program management, preferably in urban cleanliness or community development initiativesLived experience previously incarcerated or homeless is a plusExperience working with vulnerable populations and implementing workforce development programs is desirablePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTo promote the health and safety of its employees, those we serve and our local communities, Five Keys requires that all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or adhere to all weekly testing and safety measures.
