Ideal candidates will have 25+ years of experience, plus a background in inspection and rehabilitation and demonstrated leadership in complex projects.

Qualifications

• 25+ years of experience designing transportation structures (highway, transit, rail).

Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of structural engineering of transportation structures.
• Preparing design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Review of shop drawings, calculations, and coordination with design team; site visits to verify conditions and address issues.
• Lead client coordination including deliveries, submittals, meetings, and review comments; clients include public agencies and private clients.
• Supervising other structural staff and coordinating with other design departments to complete projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior structural staff.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on complex structural designs.
• Lead or assist in structural aspects for Marketing & Business Development.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a transportation Supervising Structural Engineer with minimum of 25 years of experience in design of new transportation structures such as highway, transit and rail bridges. Experience with inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus. The successful candidate will be required to supervise senior engineers in performing analysis, developing designs, contract drawings, and specifications for various infrastructure and transportation related projects. This role is full-time, though part-time will be considered as well. Your Key Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of transportation structures.
• Preparing design calculations, drawings, and details for various transportation projects.
• Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Review of shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, respond to request for information, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Lead client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc. Clients include public agencies and private clients.
• Supervising other structural staff and coordinating with other design departments to complete projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior structural staff.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on complex structural designs
