Job summary

Liberty ARC in New York seeks a Supervising Registered Nurse to oversee nursing staff in its Residential programs. The role is full-time, exempt, offers on-call coverage, and reports to the Director of Medical and Nursing.

The successful candidate will have a NYS RN license, prefer BSN, supervisory experience, and at least one year of clinical nursing in developmental disability settings. Strong organization, communication skills, and the ability to maintain medical records and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• BSN preferred with 1 year of clinical nursing experience in developmental disabilities.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Hire, terminate, discipline, supervise and schedule direct reports.
• Provide medical services to individuals in Residential programs in compliance with NYS, federal, local and agency policies.
• Provide health and safety training to agency personnel for in-home and work sites.
• Record and maintain individual medical records in compliance with regulations.
• Attend and participate in team meetings as part of the care plan.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication to the care team.

Supervising RN

FLSA: Exempt

Reports To: Director of Medical and Nursing

Physical Requirements: Normal Office Environment

Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 hours/wk, Mon-Fri. 24 hour on-call and some evening hours as required. Weekend work as needed, holiday/on-call as assigned on a rotating basis.

Job Qualifications:

1. BSN is preferred with a minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred as well.
2. Licensed RN in New York State.
3. Candidate should have a minimum of 1 year experience with the developmentally disabled.
4. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
5. Computer skills helpful (Word, E-mail). Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills are very important.
6. Valid NYS Driver's License
7. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

Major Responsibilities:

1. The duties of this job also include but are not limited to the hiring, termination, discipline, supervision and scheduling of direct reports.
2. Provide medical services to individuals in the Residential programs in compliance with New York State, federal, local and agency.
3. Provide health and safety training to agency personnel to include in home and work sites.
4. Record and maintain individual medical records in compliance with all federal, state, local and agency policies and procedures.
5. Attend and participate in team meetings/surveys as part of the individual's overall plan of care.
6. Responsible for assuring all communication is accurate and timely info and instruction to team and direct care system.
7. Pursue personal & professional development and attend mandated agency training as required.
8. Additional caseload coverage as assigned.
9. Assess for actual or potential health hazards whether physical or biological for each individual on an ongoing basis.
10. Ensure medical caseload & management and supervision of RN and ensure programs remain in compliance with all medical regulations enforced by local, state, federal and agency policies and procedures
