Job summary

Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) seeks a Supervising Attorney for the Children's Education Rights Practice Group in Toledo, OH. You will supervise attorneys and staff, lead education-related litigation and policy advocacy, and advance education justice for low-income families.

The role combines direct representation with program leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement to improve educational opportunities and outcomes. JD required and Ohio licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Ohio or eligible for admission.
• Minimum of three years of legal experience.
• Strong leadership, supervision, and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
• Lead and coordinate impact and civil rights litigation and policy advocacy.
• Provide high-quality legal representation, including litigation and advocacy.
• Manage a caseload and participate in strategic project planning.
