Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 Annually (Based on experience)

Company Introduction

This position is with a premier, employee‑owned mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) organization that has delivered full‑lifecycle building solutions, from design and construction to service and facilities maintenance, for decades. The company powers critical environments such as hospitals, schools, data centers, stadiums, and commercial buildings across Texas and the Southwest.

Role Overview

The Superintendent leads or coordinates construction projects such as developing a new facility; the addition, expansion, or extension of an existing facility; or renovation and alterations to a facility, in collaboration with the project team, construction site, and management. This role is typically responsible for multiple jobs at once, supervising one or more trade groups within the process piping scope. The Superintendent develops assignments, timetables, and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project, organizes and directs construction personnel, and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and provide technical expertise to project partners, ensuring adherence to construction processes for safe, high‑quality project completion.
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, conducting timely and meaningful performance management conversations that support professional growth.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, applying knowledge of tool and equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
  • Confirm earned value of work in place and the accuracy of forecasted percent completions.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform all required safety observations and eliminate construction and job site hazards as they are recognized, reducing safety incidents and their severity.
  • Understand and practice Quality, LEAN, and reliability principles, including pull planning, six‑week look‑ahead scheduling, value mapping, and constraint logs.
  • Budget projects by estimating worker‑hour requirements to meet the construction schedule and project budget; monitor schedules to ensure alignment with the overall project schedule; and provide material takeoffs, estimates, and pricing for changes in work scope.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems such as productivity gaps, work interfaces, and manpower requirements; advise senior supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and help resolve them as required.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments, including Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering, to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and the project schedule.
  • Conduct pre‑job and continued planning meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules, and any unusual requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess the associated trade licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in construction management.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, coordination and/or BIM drawings, submittals, specifications, details, and job orders.
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process, with the ability to plan and see the big picture.
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management, with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
