Job summary

McKinstry in Chicago, IL is seeking a Superintendent - Prime MEP to lead on-site management for complex projects. You will coordinate trades, maintain client relationships and drive schedules, submittals, RFIs and punch lists to completion.

The role requires 6–8 years of leadership in trades, a C contractor background, OSHA 30, and experience with MS Project/Primavera. A BA/BS in construction or related field is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and team leadership.

Qualifications

• Commercial General Contractor experience required.
• OSHA 30 certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position.
• Working knowledge of scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak required.
• Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, and OSHA standards required.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Project; SharePoint preferred.
• Six to Eight (6-8) years of leadership of trades and job sites preferred.
• Large complex project experience.
• BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience preferred.

• Setting up and tearing down job site logistics.
• Coordination of work with trades, subcontractors and vendors.
• Writing and reviewing scopes of work.

• Communication with field personnel.
• Develop and maintain logs and reports as required for project execution.
• Maintain daily logs of work performed by McKinstry and subcontractors onsite.
• Develop RFIs as required to document changes to the scope of work.

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are looking for a Superintendent - Prime MEP to be a part of our Prime MEP division in Chicago, IL. The Superintendent will ensure project success through on-site management of subcontractors and maintenance of client relationships. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
