Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Superintendent - Plumbing to oversee commercial plumbing installations and rough-ins. You will lead crews, ensure code-compliant piping, fixtures, and drainage, and coordinate with HVAC and electrical teams to keep projects on schedule.

You will mentor journeymen and apprentices, enforce safety standards, and drive quality on site from execution through commissioning across our nationwide projects.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in commercial plumbing installation
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Plumbing license or certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise plumbing installation of fixtures, piping, drains per plans and codes
  • Manage crew assignments, materials, and daily progress
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct toolbox talks
  • Coordinate with HVAC/electrical trades for sequencing
  • Conduct inspections and testing, resolve punch lists
  • Mentor apprentices on techniques, safety, and best practices

Position Overview

As Superintendent - Plumbing, you'll oversee plumbing system installations and rough‑ins on commercial projects, leading crews to deliver code‑compliant, reliable fixtures, piping, and drainage systems that support efficient building operations. Coordinate with trades, manage site logistics, and ensure quality/safety throughout. Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervise installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, drains, and medical gas (if applicable) per plans and codes.
  • Manage crew assignments, material deliveries, and daily progress to meet schedule milestones.
  • Enforce safety standards, perform job hazard analyses, and lead toolbox talks.
  • Coordinate with other trades (HVAC, electrical) for sequencing and conflict avoidance.
  • Conduct inspections, testing (pressure/hydrostatic), and punch list resolution.
  • Troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with plumbing codes, and document work.
  • Mentor plumbers and apprentices on techniques, safety, and best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Yes – Supervise plumbing crews and subcontractors; oversee daily performance, training, and safety adherence.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Experience: 7+ years in commercial plumbing installation, including 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; plumbing license/certification preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Field‑based; lift/carry 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, extended standing/bending.
  • Work Environment/Safety: Construction sites; exposure to wet conditions, heights, noise; OSHA/PPE compliance essential—safety is top priority.
Required Skills
  • Plumbing system installation, fixture rough‑in, testing/codes compliance.
  • Crew leadership, coordination with trades, safety enforcement.
