Job summary

Ball Corporation seeks a Superintendent, Plant Process (FE) to lead maintenance process optimization in a 24/7 manufacturing setting at Williamsburg. You will supervise a process team to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years' related experience, strong knowledge of production processes, and the ability to manage budgets and maintenance programs. Onsite work and a performance-based incentive are included.

Qualifications

• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level education or work-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Job related experience for 5 year(s) minimum.
• Working knowledge of production processes, product specifications and technology of equipment, and supervisory practices.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
• Establish maintenance procedures on equipment, including planning, budgeting, execution, and periodic review.
• Apply knowledge of functional area to conduct system and process analysis, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management.
• Participate in designing and overseeing new systems and processes that improve and enhance plant performance in safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Coordinate and apply maintenance techniques directed toward monitoring and reducing maintenance and repair costs.
• Arrange for maintenance of adequate level of supplies, materials, and parts to avoid interruptions in operations.
• Arrange for training of employees in proper maintenance programs and procedures for plant production equipment.

Primary Purpose of the Position:

Superintendent, Plant Process (Front End) is responsible for supervising and driving plant maintenance process optimization for the functional area assigned in a 24/7 Manufacturing. They lead a process team to enhance plant performance in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

What are we looking for?

  • generally accepted supervisory practices and procedures
• Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant production, chemical process, and warehouse techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Ability to negotiate with contractors for facilities/building maintenance.
• Works in both office and manufacturing environments.
• Expected Hiring Salary Range:$85,900-$119,890 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
• This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
• Onsite Work Environment:This requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
