Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead field operations on marine construction projects in the Houston area.

You will supervise field foremen, coordinate with the Project Manager, and ensure safe, timely, and quality completion of trade work on the project site. Responsibilities include overseeing cost reporting, scheduling updates, materials and equipment planning, and implementing safety and quality processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' Marine construction experience.
• Experience with Marine projects including ports, bridges, walls and docks.
• Experience leading a project team and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and external entities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field leadership and safety to ensure project success.
• Coordinate with Project Director, Estimating, Scheduling and PM for plans and schedules.
• Develop site logistics, cost tracking, and contract status reporting.
• Lead the project close-out processes and project quality controls.
• Assist Estimating in bidding and development of project plans.

The Project Superintendent is a critical field leadership position and is foundational to our projects success and safety. The Project Superintendent will oversee construction of the project in the field, providing leadership to field foremen and ensuring successful completion of trade work. The Superintendent will also work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and quality completion of construction process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate with Project Director and Estimating in development of a Project Chart of Accounts


• Develop detailed Project Contract status report


• Coordinate with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan


• Coordinate with Scheduling Department in the development and thorough updates of the project schedule.


• Maintain thorough understanding of the McCarthy/Owner contract


• Oversee the pay request process


• Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report


• Analyze and forecast quarterly Total Cost Projection reports


• Implement and monitor training of all staff personnel


• Monitor project labor


• Review and approve material, forming system and equipment needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 7 years' Marine construction experience required


• Experience with Marine projects including ports, bridges, walls and docks


• General knowledge of construction principles/practices required


• Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work


• Experience leading successful project team, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entities
