Job summary

RealREPP is seeking a Marine Construction Superintendent for a 3-year USACE project in Chesapeake Bay. You will oversee a crew of 15, coordinate dredging and island construction, and work from a marina to the jobsite by barge.

The role requires prior experience representing the Prime Contractor on marine projects of similar size and scope, with strong scheduling, safety, and leadership skills to drive milestones and budget compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of field leadership on construction projects similar in size and scope.
  • Experience representing Prime Contractor on marine projects for USACE and/or NAVFAC.
  • Knowledge of rock work.
  • Experience operating an excavator for crew training.
  • Familiarity with dredging scope is a plus.
  • Experience updating project schedules and creating look aheads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • People management and delegation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines to meet milestones.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contract specs are met.
  • Monitor progress and compliance from selected subcontractors.
  • Identify and escalate issues affecting the budget and timeline.
  • Hold onsite progress meetings with key stakeholders and personnel.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Keep schedules updated with labor and equipment resources.
  • Enforce site safety and QC plans.
  • Mentor field personnel and develop confidence.
  • Identify training gaps and arrange resources for growth.
  • Assist in developing a strategic growth plan for the division.

Job description

The selected Marine Construction Superintendent will be a key addition to the team for a 3 year USACE project at Chesapeake Bay involving dredging and construction of a new island. The Superintendent will oversee a crew of 15, and will be picked up M-F from the marina since work will be done by barge. Prior experience representing the Prime Contractor on marine construction projects of similar size and scope is required for serious consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract specs.
  • Monitoring work progress and compliance from all selected subcontractors.
  • Proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact the established project budget and timeline.
  • Holding meetings onsite with key stakeholders and personnel to provide progress reports.
  • Delegating tasks effectively and holding others accountable to achieve project milestones.
  • Keeping schedules updated ensuring proper allocation of labor and equipment resources.
  • Helping to enforce the site safety and QC plans.
  • Helping to mentor and develop confidence in field personnel.
  • Proactively identify training gaps with personnel, ensuring that they gain access to proper resources and supplemental training to maximize career growth potential.
  • Assisting in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of field leadership experience on construction projects of similar size and scope
  • Prior experience representing the Prime Contractor on marine construction projects supporting USACE and/or NAVFAC
  • Knowledge of rock work
  • Prior experience operating an excavator (for crew training purposes)
  • Familiarity with dredging scope is a PLUS
  • Prior experience updating project schedules and creating look aheads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective people management skills including the ability to delegate
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure that project milestones are achieved
Compensation Package
  • Salary 125-160k (based on experience and certifications)
