Job summary

BLUvera, Mortenson's manufacturing and fabrication arm, seeks a Superintendent I to lead day-to-day operations in a growing production environment. You will coordinate assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft teams to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality and productivity.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project partner superintendents.
  • Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetings.
  • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed.
  • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members.
  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity.
  • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
  • Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members.
  • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures.

SUMMARY

BLUvera, Mortenson\'s vertically integrated manufacturing and fabrication business, is seeking a Superintendent I to help lead day-to-day operations within a growing manufacturing environment. This role will coordinate and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft teams to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and productivity.


The Superintendent will work closely with operations and project leadership to plan work, manage resources, solve problems, and keep production moving, while building strong relationships across the organization. This is an opportunity to play a hands‑on leadership role as BLUvera scales its manufacturing capabilities and introduces new products and processes.

The base pay range for this role is $111,400 - $167,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).


Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an\'s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson\'s incentive plan.
