Job summary

Kokosing Construction seeks a Roadway Superintendent to manage earthwork and highway construction in the Norfolk, VA area. You will supervise skilled crews and coordinate with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to direct safety, production, and profitability on large highway projects.

The role requires 10+ years of field management experience with roadway/highway work and a proven ability to lead Foremen. Proficiency in Excel/Word and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical experience progressing through the ranks as a Journeyman to a Foreman to a Superintendent.
• 10+ years of field management experience in similar construction roles preferred.
• Roadway/Highway experience strongly preferred.

• Set a Safety 24/7 culture for crews.
• Assist the Project Manager in creating the project schedule.
• Develop 90-day and 3-week schedules for crews.

With over $2.8 billion in annual sales and a commitment to its workforce, Kokosing is the winning team.Job Description:We have a need for a Roadway Superintendent to manage work focused on earthwork and highway construction in the Norfolk, VA area.SUMMARYSupervise the skilled trade crews and manage onsite construction activities for parts of large, extensive Heavy Highway/roadway projects.Collaborating with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, this role is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Project, focusing on Safety, Production, and Profitability.Supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, include: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
