Job summary

Kokosing Industrial, Inc. seeks a seasoned Field Superintendent to lead field execution for federal projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, centered around Tidewater Virginia.

You will ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance while coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and field staff on MILCON and infrastructure work. The role requires 10+ years in construction with 5+ years as a superintendent, a 4-year engineering/CM degree, and proven leadership in self-performing GC environments.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan and coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials for self-perform portions of the work.
• Coordinate work activities of subcontractors and provide GC support as required to execute safely and effectively.
• Review line drawings and implement them in the field with the Foreman.
• Identify conflicts between elements of the work and crews and eliminate them.
• Lead safety and productivity planning on designated work items with crews.
• Coordinate layout needs and dates with responsible Engineer on long lead materials.
• Review bulk material and trucking logs and minimize waste and cost overruns.
• Assist Project Manager on cost projections for assigned work elements.
• Ensure self-perform crews have backup plans in case of conflicts.
• Assist Field Engineer on managing subs and coordinating with Materials Field Engineer on staging of all materials onsite.
• Develop an effective site logistics and laydown plan.
• Ensure accurate as-builts weekly and timely daily reports from all supervisors.
• Approve timecards and ensure accurate quantities claimed daily.
• Foster a culture of quality and safety with adherence to contract specifications.

Ensure that project goals are accomplished safely within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.Project pursuits and execution will be in the Mid-Atlantic region centered around the Tidewater area of Virginia and include MILCON and infrastructure, piers, dry docks, levees, or flood walls for USACE, NAVFAC, and other government agencies.The scope of this role may include leading field execution for a single project or a specific discipline/area on a mega project in the federal market segment, using varied contract procurement methodologies (Design-Bid-Build, ECI, Design-Build, MATOC, MACC, IDIQ, etc.).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSchedule, plan and coordinate personnel, equipment and materials for self-perform portions of the work.Coordinate work activities of subcontractors and provide GC support as required by the subcontract to execute the work safely and effectively.Review line drawings from Field Engineer and implement line drawing into the field with the Foreman.Identify conflicts between elements of the work and crews and eliminate them.Orientate new trades for self-perform crews.Lead safety and productivity planning on designated work items with the crews.Coordinate layout needs.Coordinate dates with responsible Engineer on long lead and major materials needed.Review bulk material and trucking usage logs from the Field Engineer and implement course corrections to minimize waste and cost overruns.Assist Project Manager on cost projections for assigned work elements.Ensure that all self-perform work crews have a backup work plan in the event of a conflict between crews and/or Subcontractor.Assist the Field Engineer on managing Subs.Coordinate with the Materials Field Engineer on staging of all materials onsite.
