Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Overview
The Superintendent oversees all daily field operations for electrical construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. This role provides direct leadership to field crews, coordinates with project management and other trades, and ensures installations meet NEC requirements and owner expectations. The Superintendent is responsible for planning, sequencing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a productive, safety‑focused jobsite.

Major Duties

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate multiple field crews to ensure safe, high‑quality, and timely execution of electrical work.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and submittals; communicate technical requirements clearly to field personnel.
  • Plan and oversee layout, installation methods, and daily work sequencing to maintain project schedule.
  • Ensure all electrical installations meet NEC, project specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Monitor material needs, deliveries, and tool usage; ensure proper care and accountability for company‑provided equipment.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements, including proper use of ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and material‑handling equipment.
  • Conduct jobsite audits, quality checks, and safety inspections.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel; support ongoing skill development and career progression.
  • Maintain organized, process‑driven work practices across all crews.
  • Work in all weather conditions and ensure crews are prepared for environmental challenges.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (minimum of one state or municipality in the company’s typical work area).
  • Current CPR and first aid certifications, preferred
  • OSHA 30, preferred
  • Aerial lift certification, preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in electrical construction, including supervision of crews.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, electrical systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing.
Necessary Physical Functions
  • Must be able to constantly move on feet for a full day assignment
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, pull, and reach above head
  • Must be able to lift 51 pounds
  • Must climb ladders of all types
  • Must be able to complete overhead for full day assignments
  • Must be able to transition from employee parking area or street to construction areas and gain access to all levels of the building even if the only means of access is an OSHA approved construction ladder or stairs still under construction
  • Must possess good vision (normal and corrected 20/40 minimum) and be able to distinguish color
  • Must carry personal tools at all times (waist tool belt weighing approximately 30 lbs.)
  • Must be able to perform work at various heights, up to 90’, from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe working areas
Tools and Equipment
  • The Superintendent may be required to operate a company vehicle and will be responsible for operating it in an appropriate manner. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (as determined by the insurance provider or Kings Electric Services management) is a requirement of the position. In addition to any requirements set forth by Kings Electric Services, the service technician will have knowledge of, and abide by, all safety and traffic laws in the States of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
  • Superintendents are to supply and carry their own small tools during all company work hours. Any power tools or large tools are provided by Kings Electric Services and checked out to each associate.
