Job summary

GCS-SIGAL is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on interior construction projects. You will ensure safety, schedules, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction across multi-million dollar assignments.

Ideal candidates will have a BS or MS in a related field and 5–10 years of superintendent experience, with strong Procore and Microsoft Office skills. The role requires clear communication with clients and subcontractors on-site in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and quality control.

Responsibilities

Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on our projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on our projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Superintendent typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies
• Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude
• Communicate clearly and effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project
• Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics
• Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones
• Thorough understanding of contract documents
• Conduct weekly contractor meetings
• Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore
• Create, manage, and update the project schedule
• Create and implement contingency plans as necessary
• Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to project stakeholders
• Oversee project quality plan
• Resolve jurisdictional disputes

Experience/Education

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or
• A combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Superintendent
