Kna Contracting, a Virginia-based general contractor, seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee all phases of construction projects, coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment, and ensure adherence to plans and budgets. The role focuses on scheduling, safety, and daily communications with owners, architects, and engineers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in commercial construction, prove scheduling and site-management skills, and hold OSHA 10/30 and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment and ensure work follows specs and stays on schedule and within budget.
• Schedule inspections, quality control, and maintain site safety and cleanliness.
• Serve as primary contact with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors for daily construction activities.
• Work with Project Manager to maintain records, daily reports, schedules, submittals, RFIs, subcontracts, and budget reporting.
• Develop and implement overall project work schedules, identifying critical path and expediting materials and equipment.
• Oversee site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with safety codes and regulations.
• Manage performance related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels.
• Oversee coordination among trades to ensure a unified project operation.
• Act as liaison to inspection agencies and manage general conditions and project budgets.

Position Type: Full Time Education Level: None Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Virginia based General Contractor, licensed in VA and NC. Job Type: Full-time.

Responsibilities

• Superintendent is responsible for all phases of the construction project including coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
• Responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control and job site safety and cleanliness.
• Serve as a primary point of contact and communication with owners/architects/engineers/subcontractors for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
• Works closely with Project Manager to maintain critical records, daily reports, project scheduling, submittals, requests for information, subcontracts, and budget reporting.
• Developing and implementing overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
• Developing and managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Managing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
• Overseeing work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation.
• Acting as liaison to inspection agencies.
• Managing the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
• Managing the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
• Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
• A working knowledge of Construction methods, safety, scheduling, quality assurance, plans and specifications, estimating, bidding and project documents are desired.
• Collaborate with Estimating/Preconstruction Team on the project schedule, logistics, safety, constructability reviews, general conditions, and general requirements.

• OSHA 10 / 30 hour training courses
• Safety and 1st Aid Certification
