Job summary

GCON Inc. seeks a Superintendent to lead high-tech program builds and serve as on-site owner liaison for data center and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate combines technical and administrative strength, ensures safety, and drives continuous improvement through Lean practices and Last Planner System.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of site management on ground-up commercial and/or data center projects.
• 5+ years leading build processes for high-tech clients / owner's rep experience.
• Experience with design of building systems for data centers and mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-tech client office and data center fit-outs.
• Lead preconstruction including buyout, logistics, and scheduling.
• Prepare operational plans and collaborate with BD on sales pursuits.
• Communicate the project plan’s success factors and implementation strategies.
• Reconcile WIP with trade contracts’ values and manage payments.
• Demonstrate understanding of the Profit Plan and financial forecast.
• Conduct LPS boot camps and weekly improvement cadence with staff/partners.
• Innovate and solve core/shell construction challenges with teams.
• Execute QC program and conduct constructability reviews.
• Create and assess WWPs and PTPs for improvements.
• Enforce EH&S policies and Injury Free Environments; identify safety training needs.

Position Description

GCON is looking for a Superintendent with specialty running high tech programs and creating exceptional owner relations! The ideal candidate is technically and administratively advanced with potential aligned owner's rep experience with high tech and commercial projects/programs. As superintendent, you will serve as an onsite point person/customer liaison and responsible person for every project you are assigned to. You will oversee all day-to-day operations and ensure safety on the job site, while implementing continuous improvement practices to achieve excellence in all project aspects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program build -out for high tech client office and datacenter fit outs.


• Contribute to the preconstruction phase, including buyout, logistics, and scheduling.


• Prepare operational plans and collaborate with Business Development (BD) on sales pursuits and presentations.


• Communicate the project plan’s success factors and implementation strategies.


• Reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) with Trade contractors’ Schedule of Values and submit timely and accurate payment requisitions.


• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Profit Plan (PP) and project financial forecast.


• Conduct jobsite lean and Last Planner System (LPS) boot camps.


• Establish and maintain a weekly cadence of LPS and continuous improvement activities between staff and trade partners.


• Innovate and solve core and shell construction challenges, utilizing project team and trade partner resources.


• Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to provide an effective Quality Control (QC) program.


• Create and assess Weekly Work Plan (WWP) and Pre-Task Plan (PTP) for continuous improvement opportunities.


• Execute Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures, implement Injury Free Environments, and identify safety training needs for the team.


• Review overall safety performance and data, discuss with trade partners, and understand leading and lagging safety indicators.

Skills/Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of relevant site management experience on ground up commercial and/or data center projects


• 5+ years’ experience leading and managing the build process for high tech clients/program administration/owener's rep experience..


• Experience with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects.


• Utilize P6 to build project schedules.


• Proficient with Procore and/or CMIC.
